Issue #1 - Not all students eligible to vote were in the database at the time voting began. For this reason, the system may have appeared to be down for some individuals whose user information was not yet in the system. The first notification of this issue was received by ITS via email around 10:00am. The ITS department immediately determined the problem and took corrective action.
Issue #2 - A few students who were not able to log in to the voting system attempted to send a request for assistance through an online help form. When doing so, one could view the previous help request contact information which included: first name, last name, email address, phone number and last four digits of SSN and description of problem. Since the ITS department resolved the issue in a timely manner, the number of students affected was minimal.
As of approximately 12noon on March 28th, all issues were resolved by ITS. No further issues were identified and the voting process ensued without further interruptions.
The department of Information Technology Services apologizes for any inconvenience which fortunately did not affect the volume of votes received. As of 1:40pm on March 29th, 163 votes have been cast by students.
The ITS department is supportive of the Student Government Organization and always stands ready to assist in its efforts.
