The NJCU Center for Community Service and Volunteerism in conjunction with the Student Government Organization and The Gothic Times is asking All students, faculty, staff and the community to come honor victims at Virginia Tech and those in mourning by attending.
Please bring flowers, extra candles, poems or prayers if you want to read. A makeshift memorial will be built in their honor.
If you're around during the day at Spring Fest, 32 balloons will be released, each bearing the names of the students. The exact time of the balloon release is TBA. There will also be boards or large cards for everyone to sign, which will be sent to V-tech.
Please join us for both events and wear maroon and orange to show your support.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for the day & evening events, please post comments at the end of this story.

Being that I am an evening student I would definitely attend the 9:30pm vigil. It is horrible what happened and being a mom myself and I only begin to imagine how those parents of those children must feel as well as the parents of the gunman. (Continued…)

I believe the vigil should be held at night. There would be less people trying to rush off to their jobs or to do whatever else needs to be done. Having the vigil at night would allow those who are sincere to have a peaceful moment out of the chaotic days that we have endured. (Continued…)

Even though I am a day time student I work until about 6pm, and because it's a candle light ceremony 9:30p would be the best time to remember those who sadly passed away during the Virginia Tech shooting. (Continued…)

Being that I am a day time student and I dont get out of work until about 6pm, a night time vigil would be the best time for NJCU students to come together and show their respect and support for those that have sadly passed on that tragic Monday morning. (Continued…)

i am also a day student. i agree that the ceremony should take place at night to allow moments of silence and prayer during the ceremony.
