Republican Statewide Victory First in Twelve Years

On Tuesday November 3, the citizens of New Jersey elected former U.S. Attorney, Republican Chris Christie, as the 55th governor of the Garden State, with a 49 to 45 percent victory over incumbent, Democrat Jon Corzine. Christie becomes the first Republican to win a statewide election since former Governor Christie Whitman's re-election victory in 1997.

Spotlight on SGO Council Meeting

On Monday, October 19, New Jersey City University's Student Government Organization (SGO) held its third Council Meeting of the Fall 2009 semester in room 125 in the Gilligan Student Union Building. Leading the meeting were the six elected SGO officers: President, Cory Spencer, Executive Vice President, Sandra Barsoum, Vice President of Finance and Administration, Oneil Madden, Vice President of Internal Affairs, Steve Velez, Vice President of Public Information, Olumayowa Okubanjo, and Vice President of Activities, Carolina Garcia.

NJCU Hosts First Annual Security Symposium

New Jersey City University recently hosted its first annual Northeast Regional Security Education Symposium. The October 16 event featured presentations from five national leaders in the fields of national security, corporate security and information assurance/cyber security.
